Kyle Edwards reacts on Twitter as Marcus Rashford convinces government into U-turn
West Brom attacker Kyle Edwards has heaped praise on Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford after the England forward successfully convinced the government into extending free food meal vouchers into the summer.
Rashford, 22, has been campaigning to ensure that those in need of help from the government to feed their children should receive it throughout the summer holidays due to the unprecedented times we’re all living in.
Rashford relied on free school meals and food banks when he grew up and wrote the MPs on Monday to get them to ensure others, who are in the same situation Rashford was, continue to get this vital support.
West Brom’s Edwards, 22, has reacted to the news on his personal Twitter account.
He wrote: “Government making a u-turn on school meals shows the power of what people can do when coming together.
“Big shouts to Rashford for what he doing! Setting the levels!!”
Rashford should be seen as an inspiration to not only young kids out there, but also to every single professional footballer in the game.
If you strongly believe in something, look at what you can achieve.
You’d imagine that if Rashford didn’t push for this change then some children might have gone hungry into the summer.
All players should be looking up to the Man United star, who is only a young man himself and has acted brilliantly in the last few days to get the government to wake up and do the right thing.
