‘Yes please’ – Many West Brom fans delighted as ‘Top young player’ is linked with Albion
West Brom fans are delighted to see reports emerging that the club is hot on the heels of Wigan left-back Antonee Robinson.
Sun journalist Alan Nixon reported on Sunday that the Baggies have a “big chance” of signing the 22-year-old USA international while the Express & Star have more recently claimed that Albion are in pole position to sign the £10million-rated Latic.
Robinson almost joined AC Milan in a £10millon deal in January before he failed a medical due to an issue with his heart.
He’s since undergone treatment to fix that issue and returned to training with Wigan last week.
Robinson’s heart problem has not deterred West Brom in their pursuit of the former Everton left-back and that speaks volume about his ability both now, and in the future.
At 22-years-of-age, Robinson is already one of the top left-backs in the Championship and seems ready to either play for a top second-tier team or make the step up to the Premier League.
West Brom are likely to need a new left-back ahead of next season as Nathan Ferguson’s contract expires this month, Kieran Gibbs has had multiple injury issues and it remains to be seen how Conor Townsend would perform in the Premier League.
Robinson could be a top addition, and that’s the view of most Albion fans on Twitter.
