Paul Robinson predicts who will win the Championship, West Brom or Leeds
Paul Robinson has backed West Brom to beat Leeds United to the Championship title in the final nine games of the season.
The former Baggies enforcer claimed that it could come to down to goal difference next month, and believes that Slaven Bilic’s men have better firepower.
Leeds are currently one point ahead of West Brom but the Baggies have a +1 goal difference as they go neck and neck for the title.
Robinson believes that the Baggies’ strength in depth could be a deciding factor as the leading two race for the title.
“There’s only one point in it, Leeds and West Brom have been battling it out the whole season,” he told the Express and Star.
“They remain the two hot favourites to go up and I expect them to. Who will win it, could come down to goal difference.
“West Brom have goals in them and definitely have strength in depth, which may prove enough to see them get across the line.”
With only one point and one goal difference in it, it really could take all nine games to separate the two teams.
Looking at the average position of each remaining opponent for the two, Leeds have the easiest run-in, with their opposition having an average position of 14.6 [The Mirror].
One thing that most can agree on is that both the Baggies and Leeds deserve those top two spots. Prediction expert Nate Silver has claimed that the Whites have a 98% chance of promotion, compared to Bilic’s men who stand an 88% chance – strong. [FiveThirtyEight].
