West Brom journalist predicts how many points Baggies will take from final nine games

West Brom finally get the chance to restart their promotion charge to the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Baggies welcome Birmingham City to The Hawthorns for a fierce Midlands derby, with Slaven Bilic having a full squad to choose from.

Every team has at least one tough fixture left between now and the end of July, with Brentford and Fulham to come for West Brom.

Express and Star journalist Luke Hatfield has predicted the result for each of the remaining nine fixtures, and it could be the dream scenario.

Hatfield predicted only one defeat, away at Brentford, and said the Baggies could get 18 points out of a possible 27.

That would all but seal promotion, with one of those wins coming against Fulham who also have Leeds and Brentford to go up against.

West Brom are six points ahead of the Cottagers, and a win against them would only extend that gap if it is still intact when they meet.

Fulham’s first two games are against Brentford and Leeds, and if they lose both of those, West Brom could have already extended that gap to 12 points.

It is no secret that Leeds have one of the easier run-ins, with Marcelo Bielsa’s squad still having the current bottom three to play at home.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter where the Baggies finish, as long as they occupy one of those top-two spots come the end of July.

Paul Robinson has already predicted that the Baggies will be champions, maybe even by goal difference – let’s wait and see.
