David Prutton predicts West Brom scoreline v Birmingham City
David Prutton has backed West Brom to pick up all three points when they face Birmingham City on Saturday.
The Baggies will take to the pitch for the first time in over three months as the Championship restarts behind closed doors this weekend.
Their first clash will come against their city rivals, who are currently 23 points being Albion in the table.
And Prutton is expecting West Brom to stroll past the Blues at the Hawthorns.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “West Brom had just suffered a mini-wobble before the suspension, and Slaven Bilic will no doubt have them raring to go for this one.
“They have a six-point gap on Fulham and a win will do wonders for their promotion bid.
“Birmingham are in strange position. Pep Clotet will be leaving at the end of the campaign, and only a dramatic turn of form – either way – would see them reach the play-offs or go down.
“West Brom should have too much for them here.”
Prutton predicts a 3-1 West Brom win.
In some respects, this is an incredibly difficult match to call.
After a three-month break in play, both sides are coming into this one relatively cold, and the fact that it’s a derby only complicates matters further.
Factor in the lack of a home crowd at The Hawthorns on Saturday, and there are plenty of interesting details that could throw a spanner in the works for the Baggies.
Still, we are inclined to agree with Prutton on this one.
Every game between now and the end of the season is a potential banana skin, but Albion should have enough to get through this one.
With the likes of Grady Diangana back in contention, Bilic has a strong squad with good depth to choose from, and this should be a fairly open and shut victory.
