Jeff Stelling & Charlie Nicholas predict West Brom v Birmingham scoreline

West Brom have been widely backed to beat Birmingham City at The Hawthorns on Saturday as Slaven Bilic’s men resume their bid to win promotion.

Soccer Saturday host Jeff Stelling, as well as pundits Charlie Nicholas, Phil Thompson and Matt Le Tissier, have all predicted wins for the Baggies on the Super 6 website.

Nicholas has gone into greater depth about why he believes West Brom will run out as 2-1 winners over Blues, suggesting that the hunger to finish in an automatic promotion spot is all the motivation Bilic’s men will need to win the West Midlands derby showdown.

“West Brom will be back in business with Slaven Bilic,” Nicholas wrote on the Super 6 website.

“They, like Leeds, will want to make that position inside the top two their own, and they will get over the line in this local derby.”

We are biased but we cannot see past a West Brom win either.

It speaks volumes that Stelling, Thompson and Le Tissier have all predicted the Baggies to score three goals and with the firepower Bilic has at his disposal, who can blame them?

If Albion stick with the same attacking line-up that Bilic was naming before the league was suspended, they will still have Grady Diangana, Matt Phillips, Kamil Grosicki and Charlie Austin to bring off the bench.

How can Birmingham cope with that?

Blues do have some dangerous players of their own that the Baggies defence will have to keep a close eye on but the quality of the two sides is really likely to show this weekend in the behind-closed-doors fixture at The Hawthorns.

In other West Brom news, it has been suggested this 29-year-old signed by Tony Pulis could leave in the next transfer window.
