Thomas Frank sends Brentford squad warning on their quest to catch Leeds & West Brom

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has warned his side to forget about catching West Brom until after they have played Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

The Bees travel to Craven Cottage on Saturday before welcoming Slaven Bilic’s side to the capital the weekend after.

Frank’s side currently sit 10 points behind the Baggies, and these first two games will surely have a massive impact on where they finish after the next month of football.

Frank was open and honest with how he has addressed his squad and sent the warning if they wanted to catch the top-two.

“Normally I’m pretty harsh on, ‘No, focus on Fulham and then focus on West Brom’,” he told the Evening Standard.

“Let’s still start with the first game. Can we win that? That’ll give us an opportunity in the next one. If we don’t win that then there’s no reason to speak about the West Brom game.”

It will not mean much should West Brom pick up three points on Saturday and Brentford lose to their local rivals Fulham.

Should the Baggies then beat Frank’s men the week after, they would have a 16-point gap to them, and then they will be hoping that Leeds do them a favour by beating Fulham in the same weekend.

Bilic will be making sure that his squad are taking it game-by-game, but they will know a lot more about their chances of promotion in the next two weeks.
