West Brom fans were less than pleased by Matt Phillips' performance in the 0-0 draw with Birmingham City at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

Phillips, 29, started for the first time in the Championship since February 1 as he replaced Filip Krovinovic in Slaven Bilic's 4-2-3-1 formation.

However the former QPR attacker did little to justify Bilic's decision as many fans on Twitter made what they thought of the player's display clear on social media.

West Brom fired more crosses into the box in the first half against Blues than they did in any opening 45 minutes of any Championship game this season.

It wasn't the worst of performances by the Scotland international but we think that Bilic should have stuck with the 4-3-3 and played Krovinovic from the off instead.

Still, it is easy to look back and say that now but it seems most West Brom fans are feeling the same way after a disappointing return to action from the 29-year-old.

It is going to be a tougher game for Albion so they need in-form players to be starting.
