Ben Foster & James Morrison send Instagram messages to player headed for West Brom exit
West Brom announced on Tuesday that Kane Wilson will be leaving The Hawthorns at the end of the month when his contract expires.
Wilson, 20, made just one senior appearance for the Baggies and has been sent out on a number of loan spells where he has shone at Exeter, Walsall and, this season, Tranmere.
Ben Foster and James Morrison have been reacting to the announcement on Instagram, with both of the former Albion players wishing the young full-back “all the best”.
Wilson’s exit was always on the card this summer as he has struggled to impress enough at West Brom to avoid being sent out on loan.
He’s never played above League One and with the Baggies heading towards promotion to the Premier League, it is hard to see the ex-Walsall loanee ever making it in the top-flight.
Who knows? Maybe one day Wilson will prove us and West Brom wrong by making a name for himself in the lower divisions before rising up the leagues.
But Albion have been sending Wilson out on loan season after season and he doesn’t see to have improved much since his first loan spell away at Exeter in the 2017/18 campaign.
Albion have a lot of young players who have had similar times at the club to Wilson.
He’s one of the nearly-men, who just about had his taste of first-team football at The Hawthorns but never really progressed from that point.
In other West Brom news, Don Goodman has been raving about Albion’s “unsung hero”.
