Bilic details which West Brom players are likely to be rotated ahead of Brentford clash

With eight Championship games to play in a month, West Brom and their rivals will have to rotate their squads.

Slaven Bilic had a full-strength squad to choose from in the 0-0 draw with Birmingham on Saturday, and couldn’t find space for the likes of Kamil Grosicki and Chris Brunt.

The Baggies still had the likes of Charlie Austin and Grady Diangana to bring off the bench, but they couldn’t influence the result at the Hawthorns.

Bilic has commented on his squad depth, revealing that West Brom will be in a good position to rotate consistently in the final third.

“The front players, they rotate even in normal conditions,” he told the Express and Star.

“Before the virus, they’re sprinting the most, they’re that kind of player. It depends on how they play. As I’ve said, we have the quantity over the quality.

“The players have expressed themselves and they’ve given me a headache in a good way.”

Looking at the options on Saturday, Bilic started with the familiar trio of Hal Robson-Kanu, Callum Robinson and Matheus Pereira.

It could have been a surprise that Matt Phillips started, and his performance could see him dropped on Friday against Brentford for someone like Diangana.

The 29-year-old was dragged off after 60 minutes, with his final product not good enough. Phillips may have had three shots on goal, but he failed to test Lee Camp and only completed 69.2% of his passes according to WhoScored.

Rustiness was certainly expected, but it would be no surprise to see Diangana come in to replace the Scotsman on Friday.
