‘Wonderkid’ – Many WBA fans delighted with 20y/o after ‘Outstanding display’ on Monday

It was a night to remember for West Brom youngster Callum Morton on Monday evening.

The Northampton loanee fired the Cobblers into the League Two play-off final, scoring two goals in the 3-0 victory over Cheltenham.

Cheltenham became the first-ever club to lose a play-off semi-final tie after being two goals ahead of their opponents after the away leg – we all remember Leeds last season.

Morton was inspirational in the victory for Northampton, scoring twice in the second half as he helped create history.

The young striker had four shots on goal, completed two key passes as well as 100% of his dribbles in the game as earned the Man of the Match award [D3D4Football].

The 20-year-old has had a great breakthrough campaign in the EFL under Keith Curle, scoring seven goals and Monday saw many Baggies fans raise their eyebrows.

It won’t be an easy ride to the first team though, with Rayhaan Tulloch another impressive attacker coming through the ranks at the Hawthorns.

There was speculation that Tulloch could leave the club, something which would have left a bigger space for Morton, but the Athletic’s Steve Madeley recently reported that West Brom are set to agree a new deal with the youngster.

Many West Brom fans have reacted to Morton’s performance on Monday evening, with the majority claiming that Slaven Bilic must find a spot for the forward in the future.
