Local journalist claims Slaven Bilic could make two West Brom changes v Brentford
West Brom travel to Brentford on Friday night knowing that three points could be a massive step towards Premier League promotion.
The Baggies are currently seven points ahead of third-placed Fulham, and if they were to better their result against Leeds on Saturday, the gap could be in double figures once the weekend is over.
Slaven Bilic has a number of key decisions to make after the 0-0 draw against Birmingham, with the likes of Kamil Grosicki missing that game.
The Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi has claimed that Bilic could make a couple of changes for the clash at Griffin Park.
Masi believes that Dara O’Shea could come back in at right-back to help with the threat of the Bees’ prolific front three with Bryan Mbuemo set to return.
As well as the defender, it is suggested that an extra man in the midfield could definitely help stop the counter-attacking threat and Filip Krovinovic is predicted to come in for Matt Phillips.
That would see the Baggies switch into a 4-3-3 formation, and allow them to counter quicker from midfield to attack with Krovinovic moving into a playmaker role.
The Croatian has impressed since returning after the break, with the midfielder scoring a great strike against Aston Villa in their friendly before the restart.
Matt Phillips didn’t impress against the Blues, with Krovinovic completing nearly double the number of passes per game at a better success rate this season according to WhoScored.
West Brom will need to keep the ball better than Brentford to nullify their attacking threat, and the introduction Krovinovic will certainly help that.
