We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Phillips has tipped West Brom to beat Hull City when the two sides meet at The Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.
Albion bagged their first victory since February on Wednesday night as they won 3-0 against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
Hull also ended a terrible run of form of their own on Thursday with a victory over relegation rivals Middlesbrough.
However Phillips cannot see past a Baggies win this weekend, predicting that the Baggies will win 3-0 against the Humberside club.
“I watched the Birmingham-Hull game at the weekend and Hull looked quite dangerous but the biggest thing is that they concede goals,” Phillips told West Brom News.
“With the attacking force that West Brom have got, certainly at home, that could be a comfortable win for West Brom.
“I can see that being 3-0. I can see another good result for the Baggies.”
It is very hard to see past a Baggies win this weekend.
The only reason anyone could predict Hull to win would be that the Championship is known for throwing up shock results every now and then.
Nobody saw Luton earning a point at Leeds on Tuesday but Nathan Jones’ side did very well to get a draw at Elland Road.
Hull will have to do even better than that to cause an upset at The Hawthorns on Sunday with Albion finally back to winning ways.
Of course, Hull did register their first win since New Years Day on Thursday night but that should not be a big enough reason to suggest the Tigers will win.
In other West Brom news, Alan McInally hailed this “brilliant” Albion player on Wednesday night.
