‘Absolutely incredible’ – Local journalist hails rarely-seen West Brom ace v Hull City
West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki was handed his first start for the club against his former side Hull City on Sunday afternoon.
The Polish international grasped his opportunity with both hands, causing the Tigers massive problems and scoring in the 4-2 victory at the Hawthorns.
Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi, who was at the game, admitted that he was one of the standout players on the pitch.
Masi did express concern with some of the decisions he made in the game, but overall it was a great afternoon for the Pole.
“Absolutely incredible, I thought Grosicki was really good,” he told the Baggies Broadcast.
“Really, really good – he’s kind of unpolished in a way, sometimes he makes strange decisions and he very, very much relies on his pace which is absolutely blistering.
“I thought he was very, very good Grosicki.”
Slaven Bilic will have been delighted with Grosicki, who was forced to wait until the win at Sheffield Wednesday for his first taste of action after the lockdown.
Going forward the 32-year-old was unstoppable at the Hawthorns. Grosicki had three shots on goal as well as completing three key passes according to WhoScored as he continued to cause his former club nightmares.
It will give Bilic a major headache going into the Derby clash on Wednesday, with Grady Diangana also scoring and Callum Robinson not even featuring despite impressing against Sheffield Wednesday – good luck Slav.
