Report – Bilic contacts 26y/o West Brom target, bid tabled, player keen
West Brom manager Slaven Bilic has contacted Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi to let him know that he is eager to sign him this summer, according to Turkish outlet Takvim.
The Baggies were initially linked with a move for the hitman back in May by Fanatik, and are seemingly still keen on securing his services.
The 26-year-old Kosovo international has hit 17 goals across 34 appearances in all competitions for his current employers this season.
Albion boss Bilic is understood to have spoken to the player himself, however, and has made it clear that he is eager to bring him to England in the coming months.
For his part, Muriqi is also understood to be keen, and has reportedly told the manager that he would be happy to play in the Premier League if a sea can be wrapped up.
The report also states that an official bid has been tabled, and that talks between the two sides are going well.
If this report is to be believed, then the signs are really positive.
The Kosovar is a player who we at West Brom News have looked at in some detail before, and we believe he could be a real asset to Albion in the top flight.
The striker is a hulking physical presence, and he has 53.9% of his aerial duels this season compared to Charlie Austin’s 24.3%, as per Wyscout.
Likewise, he has more goals per 90 minutes, more successful dribbles, and has a higher total action success rate.
He looks to be the real deal, and if both he and Bilic are keen to wrap a deal up, then there’s no reason to believe that we can’t push to get this over the line in the coming weeks
In other West Brom news, Albion could be invited to play for silverware at Wembley next month.
