‘Goodness me’ – Jeff Stelling & Paul Merson blown away by ‘Brilliant’ ace in West Brom v B’burn
Jeff Stelling and Paul Merson were raving about Filip Krovinovic as he put West Brom ahead in their 1-1 draw against Blackburn at Ewood Park on Saturday.
Krovinovic, 24, scored his third goal of the season after a neat passing move by the Baggies in the 41st minute which resulted in Charlie Austin dinking the ball across to the Croatian playmaker to score.
Merson was covering the match on Soccer Saturday this weekend and he could be heard waxing lyrical about Krovinovic before Stelling even had time to cut to him.

“Brilliant,” Merson said on Sky Sports News during the first half. “Krovinovic has scored it. If you had come to me sooner I’d have said that this game is fizzling out for West Brom but they’ve shown their class.
“Watch this. It’s a great ball by Austin. He gets the ball and he digs it out to Krovinovic. He side-foots it, he doesn’t slash it to just slide it in.”
Stelling responded: “It’s just his third West Brom goal but goodness me, he could not have finished it any more accurately. He’s got a very cool head indeed.”

Krovinovic may have had a slow start to life at The Hawthorns when he first joined on loan from Benfica last summer but it is fair to say that since the turn of the year, he has been nothing short of outstanding.
Every time he plays, West Brom seem to play a lot better as a unit.
The Croatian midfielder is so calm and collected on the ball and we love that he is capable of scoring good goals as well as helping control possession.
Krovinovic is someone who we’d love to see the Baggies sign permanently in the summer and hopefully, Slaven Bilic can make sure that happens.
In other West Brom news, fans hailed this Albion player as being “better than Messi” against Blackburn.
