‘I am so happy’ – Bilic ‘delighted’ with West Brom starlet who has ‘big future’ at club

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic has admitted that he is “delighted” to see youngster Rayhaan Tulloch pen a new deal with the Baggies.

The 19-year-old signed a new contract with Albion earlier in the week that ties him to the club until at least 2024.

And his manager is over the moon to have such a prodigious starlet secured on a long-term basis.

As quoted by the Express and Star, he said: “I am so happy about it.

“Ray hasn’t played a lot, but he is the type of player that everyday puts a smile on your face. He is an exceptional talent. He has very quick feet, very good skill, a very good sense of the game.

“We are delighted and I am delighted he committed himself to us – especially nowadays when you see a lot of young players walking out of their clubs.

“It’s great for us but it is even better for him because he has got a big future here.”

As Bilic points out, Tulloch hasn’t got a wealth of experience under his belt, but all the signs are that he could really kick on and become a very exciting asset for Albion.

The starlet was attracting interest from the likes of Rangers, West Ham, and Brighton in recent months, as per the Scottish Sun, and with that calibre of club keen on snatching him away, we’ve done a good job to tie him down.

Of course, we are still waiting for that first senior goal, but after amassing just 32 minutes of first team action, we’re fairly sure that nobody can blame the teenager for drawing a blank so far.

Instead, we should take our cue from Bilic’s glowing praise, and the fact that he has hit nine in 14 for the U23s this term.

Those are impressive numbers, and combined with the obvious faith that his manager has in him, could make for a very exciting future.

In other West Brom news, Albion could be invited to play for silverware at Wembley next month.
