Some West Brom fans wowed by ‘MOTM’ in 0-0 v Fulham: 10/10, ‘Unbelievable’

West Brom fans were bowled over by how well Ahmed Hegazi played as Albion drew 0-0 with Fulham at The Hawthorns on Tuesday.

Hegazi, 29, returned to the starting line-up at the expense of Kyle Bartley after a one-match suspension and being an unused substitute at the weekend against Blackburn.

Stats by WhoScored show that the Egypt international completed more clearances than any other player on the pitch [7] while also completing two tackles and winning three aerial duels.

One of the best moments came in the first half when Hegazi cleared the ball off the line after a dangerous bit of attacking play by Fulham.

Had he not got to the ball in time, it would have been 1-0 to the away side and potentially a huge shift in the promotion race.

Don Goodman and Mick McCarthy were full of praise for Hegazi and it seems that the West Brom supporters were equally impressed by the 29-year-old centre-back.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Slaven Bilic has toyed with his defence since the season restart but we now think that for the final two matches, the Croatian boss should avoid any changes.

In the last few games, Hegazi has proven himself to be the best option alongside Semi Ajayi at centre-back ahead of Bartley and that’s who should be named to start against Huddersfield and QPR.

If Hegazi plays like he did against Fulham then you would not put much money on those two clubs scoring, let alone winning, against the Baggies.

In other West Brom news, Albion have been tipped to sign this Man United player on a £37,500-a-week loan deal.
