‘Didn’t seem to click’, ‘Immense’ – West Brom Super Fans pick Saint & Sinners from 0-0 v Fulham

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.

West Brom ensured that automatic promotion to the Premier League remained in their hands by drawing 0-0 with Fulham at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night.

It was a game of few clear-cut chances but that Baggies were marginally the better side with Charlie Austin, Grady Diangana and Semi Ajayi perhaps all having opportunities to seize the initiative for Albion.

Unfortunately, a lack of cutting edge up front was West Brom’s downfall as they dropped points for a second game in a row but avoiding defeat, with a solid defensive display, ensured that Brentford cannot overtake them when they play Preston on Wednesday.

We asked our panel of West Brom Super Fans to name their saints and sinners from the goalless draw with Fulham and here is what they had to say:

Dylan Ashmore (@WBADyl)

Lee Armstrong (@UncleSock)

Hayden Belgrave (@belgrave_hayden)

Jon W (@JonW1995)

Jamie Rossiter (@Jay89R)

Ahmed Hegazi is, unsurprisingly, the popular pick for West Brom’s man of the match among the Super Fans.

The 29-year-old Egyptian kept Aleksandar Mitrovic quiet for the entire 90 minutes, making several vital interventions to stop Fulham from getting on the scoresheet.

As for the sinners, Matt Phillips and Kamil Grosicki appear to be the main picks.

Phillips replaced Grosicki at half time and we believe that the Scotland international did do better than the Polish winger but neither really did much to suggest they should be starting against Huddersfield on Friday.

It might be time for Callum Robinson to come back into the side if Bilic wants to stick with 4-2-3-1 but if he opts to change to 4-3-3 then Filip Krovinovic is a must.

In other West Brom news, Jeff Stelling has shared his promotion verdict after Albion failed to beat Fulham.
