‘Seriously?’ – Adrian Durham slams West Brom player and coach as clip goes viral on Twitter
Adrian Durham has slammed Matheus Pereira and a member of the West Brom coaching staff after an incident at The Hawthorns on Tuesday.
In the second half of the Baggies’ 0-0 draw with Fulham, Matheus Pereira made the most of a gentle tap on his head by Michael Hector.
As much as we love Pereira, we do not want to see this from him at all. Quite frankly, it’s embarrassing and the video clip of him doing it went viral on Twitter. At the time of writing the clip, shared by a Leeds fan, has almost half-a-million views.
Pereira rolled around as though he had been punched or kicked in the head while a member of the West Brom coaching staff almost made his way onto the pitch to call for action against Hector.
Slaven Bilic didn’t look best pleased with the incident too and talkSPORT host Durham has reacted to the clip on Twitter, hitting out at Pereira and the coach (who we cannot 100 per cent recognise as you can only see the back of his head).
Durham wrote: “I know promotion is important but seriously? And what is that West Brom coach doing?”
Durham has had some controversial views on West Brom in the past so he is not someone who Albion supporters are always quick to agree with.
But, on this occasion, Durham’s words are totally warranted.
What is Pereira playing at? He is such a good player that he does not need to act like this.
The Brazilian is an absolute magician with the ball at his feet so why has he felt the need to resort to play-acting in a bid to get a Fulham player sent off?
We could have still failed to beat Fulham with 10 men if Hector was red-carded and if that happened, the FA would have retrospectively banned Pereira for simulation.
West Brom need Pereira available for every minute of every remaining game this season.
He is the best player in the Championship but that, on Tuesday night, was a complete embarrassment and we hope Bilic has a word with him.
In other West Brom news, Albion have been tipped to sign this Man United player on a £37,500-a-week loan deal.
