‘Get rid’, ‘Hopefully he’s sold’, ‘Embarrassment’ – Many West Brom fans destroy player v Hudds
West Brom fans have torn Matt Phillips to shreds for his anonymous performance in the 2-1 loss to Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday.
Phillips, 29, has been widely criticised for his form since the Championship season restarted last month and it turned some heads when Slaven Bilic named the Scottish winger to start against Huddersfield.
However, after 45 minutes of failing to impress, Phillips was hooked by Bilic at half-time with Kamil Grosicki coming off the bench to replace him.
Phillips barely did anything in his time on the pitch other than get booked.
Stats by WhoScored show that Phillips had just 14 touches of the ball in the first half and was dispossessed twice.
He provided next to nothing in an attacking sense and that led to fans asking where the winger was in the opening 45 minutes.
Some West Brom fans have also called on Phillips to be sold after yet another sub-par display for the side.

Will West Brom sell Phillips?
The Scotland international has two years left on his contract at The Hawthorns and it does seem as though his injury issues in the last few seasons have made him a worse player than the one who Tony Pulis signed back in 2017.
Phillips has still scored eight goals and supplied five assists in 40 total appearances this season so he does know how to contribute towards goals.
If Albion win promotion then we’ll more than likely see him drop down the pecking order and maybe moved on but if we do not go up then we’d expect to see the ex-Blackpool winger stay.
