Jay Rodriguez responds brilliantly to West Brom tweet ahead of huge clash v QPR

Jay Rodriguez has sent his best wishes to West Brom ahead of their promotion showdown against QPR at The Hawthorns on Wednesday night.

Albion simply need to win against the Rs in order to secure a top-two finish and automatic promotion back to the Premier League.

Ahead of the match, West Brom’s official Twitter account asked supporters to send in their messages so they would appear on the big screen at The Hawthorns for players to read ahead of kick-off.

And ex-Baggies striker Rodriguez was among those to reply, so Slaven Bilic and his men should be able to read his message on Wednesday night.

“Good luck to everyone connected with the club! Would be great to see you all back in the Premier League,” said the Burnley striker on his personal Twitter account.

Rodriguez divided opinion among West Brom fans last season as he scored 22 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions.

However it was a sad day when he left the club because we all knew we were losing someone who couldn’t be replaced with the club’s finances hit hard by failing to win an instant return to the top-flight.

It is great to see that since returning to Burnley, Rodriguez has been on fire with his haul of 11 goals in 38 appearances showing that he is too good to be stuck in the Championship.

We hope to see him returning to The Hawthorns next season to play against the Baggies in the league – just as long as he doesn’t score against us.
