‘No hard feelings’, ‘Embarrassing’ – Many WBA fans divided over latest tweet from Albion player

West Brom fans have taken to social media to react to Nathan Ferguson’s latest tweet, and it’s fair to say that the youngster continues to divide opinion at The Hawthorns.

The 19-year-old is exit-bound at his boyhood club after failing to agree terms on a new contract.

It is understood that a move to Crystal Palace is on the cards, after a similar transfer failed to materialise in January due to an injury complication.

And the defender’s recent social media activity has all but confirmed his departure from the Baggies.

As well as posting a series of photos of his time with Albion on Twitter alongside a pair of praying hands and three love hearts, Ferguson took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message.

Writing on his personal account, he said: “I would like to extend my gratitude to West Brom and all of the fans as I take my next step in my professional career.

“I wish them well for the remainder of the season. A world class coach and a group I see as family.

“Thank you for the memories, thank you for the challenges and thank you for the chance.

“Peace and Love”.

And really, West Brom fans were split into two main camps when it came to their reactions.

On the one hand, several were quick to offer their best wishes to Ferguson, and expressed their regret that he is leaving the club so early in his career.

Several other, however, took a more hard-nosed approach, essentially washing their hands of the player and his association with the Baggies.

All we can say is that we think it’s a real shame that things have ended like this.

It’s never nice to see a young player with such obvious potential leave a club, especially when he is coming in for so much criticism from certain factions of the fanbase.

At this stage, all we can really do is wish Ferguson the best of luck, and hope that we bank a decent enough fee to bring in a quality replacement.

Unfortunately, that’s just the reality of modern football sometimes.
