‘Classy’ – West Brom respond after Leeds United post message about Baggies

West Brom finally sealed their promotion to the Premier League on Wednesday evening, despite the nailbiting end to the season.

The Baggies will join Leeds United in the top-flight next season after managing to beat Brentford to second-spot after the restart.

Slaven Bilic’s side failed to win any of their final four games, but the Croatian won’t care about that with his goal finally achieved.

Leeds knew their fate last week after West Brom’s 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield, eventually finishing with a 10-point gap to the Albion.

West Brom and the Whites have shared an exchange on Twitter on Thursday morning, with both sides waking up Premier League clubs.

“Classy,” West Brom responded to a congratulatory message.

“Congratulations on securing the Championship title. See you next season in the Premier League.”

This is what it’s all about. After all, is said and done, the two best sides in the Championship this season have come together to celebrate both achieving their goals.

No one can argue about the Baggies and Leeds going up either, with those two sides occupying the automatic promotion spots for more than 80% of the season in the Championship.

Brentford fans may argue it was undeserved in the end, but the numbers don’t lie. West Brom lost the fewest games in the league with only seven.

On top of that, they had the longest unbeaten run as well as the most comeback victories – two stats that scream out a never-say-die attitude, welcome back Baggies.
