West Brom will move to sign loan star in potential £6m deal after winning PL promotion – report

West Brom are set to make a move to sign Filip Krovinovic on a permanent basis from Benfica after winning promotion to the Premier League, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper reports that the deal could cost the Baggies £6million, which seems like a bargain based on how well Krovinovic, 24, has performed on loan this season.

Krovinovic has made 43 appearances in all competitions for Albion this term, scoring three goals and supplying four assists to help his loan club win automatic promotion from the Championship.

He didn’t get off to the best of starts in the first half of the season as he often found himself in and out of Slaven Bilic’s first-team plans.

But a change of formation in the winter led to Krovinovic becoming a key player in Bilic’s midfield as he played in every single Championship game between January 28 and the final game of the season on Wednesday night.

For £6million, West Brom seem as though they are getting themselves a steal.

Stats by WhoScored show that out of players with more than five Championship starts this season, Krovinovic has the second-best pass completion percentage [86.2] at The Hawthorns, with Romaine Sawyers [90] being the only one ahead of him.

He completed more key passes per game [1.1] than Sawyers [0.9], which just goes to show how much more effective his passes are in the attack.

Krovinovic will be a great permanent addition to this side and hopefully it does not take long to get that £6million deal wrapped up.
