Bilic urges West Brom to splash cash on £20m-rated player who could be willing to move – report
Slaven Bilic is urging West Brom to push out the boat to sign winger Grady Diangana on a permanent basis from West Ham, according to the Daily Star.
The newspaper claims that West Ham want £20million for the 22-year-old after an impressive season on loan at The Hawthorns in the Championship in which he scored eight goals and supplied seven assists in 30 league appearances.
It is understood that Diangana could be willing to move away from the London Stadium and as the Baggies are now officially a Premier League club again, a deal could be beneficial for all parties.
West Brom will have to move fast though with Celtic, Everton and Newcastle also said to be interested in the England Under-21 international.
But Albion are likely to have a major advantage in their bid to sign Diangana because he has already spent a season in the West Midlands, has got to know the players and the staff and, of course, the Bilic connection with West Ham is a strong one.
If Diangana hadn’t missed as much of the season as he did with injury then the Baggies would have surely won promotion to the Premier League way before Wednesday.
Diangana’s display against QPR, in which he scored and supplied an assist, shows he is someone who can step up in the big games for the Black Country club.
Now we need to know if he can step it up in the Premier League but based on his performances over the course of the season, the Hammers academy product is more than good enough to take that leap.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have opened talks over a new contract for this attacker.
