‘There are always changes’ – Sheff U boss Wilder responds to question on WBA loanee Robinson

Sheffield United Chris Wilder has delivered a cryptic answer when asked about the future of West Brom loanee Callum Robinson.

The 25-year-old joined the Baggies in January, and has hit three goals and two assists in 16 Championship outings, including one of each in the vital 2-2 draw against QPR on Wednesday evening.

And his manager at Bramall Lane has seemingly suggested that there is a chance that he could be on the move this summer.

As quoted by Yorkshire Live, he said: “I am not talking about individual players – Callum is under contract with us and there are always changes at the end of the season.

“I am delighted for Callum, he’s done great, Slaven [Bilic] and West Brom have done a great achievement to get back into the Premier League, but there are always decisions at this part of the season that clubs have to make in terms of structure of the squad and Callum is our player and we will deal with that accordingly.”

Robinson has proven his worth since making the move to The Hawthorns at the beginning of the year, and if there was an opportunity to bring him in on a permanent deal between now and next season, we would be very open to the prospect.

The wide man has registered a higher xG and higher dribble success rate than Grady Diangana this season, as per Wyscout, and has looked like a good, pacy option to bolster Slaven Bilic’s forward line whenever he has been called upon.

Wilder’s comments are pretty hard to decipher, but at the very least, you would expect the Blades to be open to a conversation about letting him leave this summer.

Hopefully, some kind of deal can be struck.
