Wolves player sends Instagram message to Matheus Pereira after West Brom win promotion to PL

West Brom star Matheus Pereira took to Instagram in the early hours of this morning to celebrate his side’s promotion to the Premier League.

Pereira, 24, has been a sensation for the Baggies this season and is set to sign permanently from Sporting CP after triggering an obligation-to-buy clause in his contract last month.

West Brom fans are delighted that the attacker will be joining on a permanent basis and it seems that Pereira is delighted he’ll be playing for a Premier League team next season as he took to his personal Instagram account to upload an image of himself praying with his team-mates and the caption: “We’re going up!”

Filip Krovinovic replied to Pereira’s post, writing “craque”, which translates from Portuguese as “ace”.

Wolves forward Daniel Podence also replied to Pereira’s post. He played alongside Pereira at Sporting CP and simply wrote: “Carega”. That translates roughly as “cheeky”.

Pereira might not have been at his best against QPR on Wednesday night but there is no denying that the Brazilian is a major contender to win West Brom’s player of the season award.

The 24-year-old has made 42 Championship appearances for the Baggies this season, scoring eight goals and supplying a staggering 20 assists in the process.

On two occasions this term, Pereira has bagged a hat-trick of assists in a single game, showing that he is not only the best playmaker in the Championship but also someone who is more than ready to make the step up to the Premier League.

After Barnsley’s win against Brentford on Wednesday, thankfully, Pereira will be taking that step up with the Baggies.

In other West Brom news, Albion will make a move to sign this loan star permanently with a £6million deal possible.
