‘Get him’ – These WBA fans ‘beg’ club to swoop for QPR ‘baller’ after midweek masterclass

West Brom certainly didn’t have it all their own way as they scraped their way into the second automatic promotion spot on Wednesday night.

QPR put up a stiff fight, taking the lead and then pegging the Baggies back in a nerve-wracking 2-2 draw.

Of course, we can look back on it now and smile, but at the time, it was more than a little touch and go.

West Brom

And that was largely to do with the influence of R’s playmaker Eberechi Eze.

The 22-year-old has been in electric form all season, registering 14 goals and eight assists in the Championship, as well as a Whoscored rating of 7.36 – the third highest in the division.

His strike against Albion was an absolute stunner too, and is overall performance was so good that West Brom fans were left begging the club to make a move for the tricky talisman.

Eze registered a shot accuracy rate of 100% against the Baggies, as well as completing 30% more dribbles than Matheus Pereira, and having a total action success rate that was 16% higher, as per Wyscout.

In short, he ran the show at times, and you can understand why so many fans would be so eager for him to arrive at The Hawthorns this summer.

That being said, the chances of a deal actually happening appear pretty slim.

For one thing, the Baggies haven’t been linked with any kind of interest Eze.

Moreover, according to The Sun, he will set any potential suitors back a cool £20 million at the very least.

With that in mind, we have to admit that it’s hard to see this one being anything more than a pipe dream this summer.
