Sun journo delivers triple West Brom transfer update, mentions ‘massive’ player payout

West Brom are looking to spend on a number of targets in the upcoming transfer window, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

The Baggies secured promotion back to the top flight in midweek thanks to a 2-2 draw against QPR on Wednesday night, and are understood to have handed their player a “massive” payout as a result.

But the club don’t plan on stopping their spending there.

According to Nixon, Albion are also keen on Wigan Athletic full-back Antonee Robinson, QPR winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, and are in the market for a new goalkeeper too.

Writing on his personal account, he said: “West Brom. Massive pay out to players for promotion.

“Looking to spend on Antonee Robinson. Also possibly Bright Osayi-Samuel. And a keeper.

“Leeds United players had same size of bonus”.

This is definitely a positive update from Nixon.

The Baggies have been linked with Robinson already this summer, while Osayi-Samuel was said to be a January target who fell through in the late stages of the window.

Rekindling interest in both seems like a fairly logical thing to do, but in a lot of ways, it’s the link to a new goalkeeper that is most interesting.

With Jonathan Bond still yet to sign a new deal, and with Alex Palmer penning a contract extension earlier in the summer, this would suggest that Slaven Bilic believes the former will leave and the latter is not yet ready for a first team role in the Premier League.

Who the Baggies will pursue remains to be seen, but at the very least, it’s good to hear that there are already major plans in the pipeline.
