‘The one I would love to see join is…’: West Brom Super Fans discuss realistic summer signings

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.

West Brom fans – and some players – may still be celebrating winning promotion to the Premier League but it is likely that the hard work has already started behind the scenes to plan for next season.

Slaven Bilic and Luke Dowling will be working tirelessly over the coming weeks and months now that the transfer window has re-opened and the Baggies in need of strengthening in plenty of areas of the squad.

Albion finished second in the Championship but they leaked goals when they shouldn’t have, they struggled to create chances against good teams, had a real deficiency in goalscoring strikers and most of the best attacking players were only on loan at The Hawthorns.

We have asked our panel of West Brom Super Fans to say the one player they would like to see the club realistically sign in the summer and there are a number of names that have been thrown up which interest us.

Here is what they had to say:

Luke Stokes (@lukestokes84)

Jamie Rossiter (@Jay89R)

Luke Pollard (@LukeyP_wba)

Dylan Ashmore (@WBADyl)

Lee Armstrong (@UncleSock)

Dan Nash (@DanNash86)

Jon W (@JonW1995)

Karlan Grant is someone who has been mentioned a couple of times with the Huddersfield striker scoring 19 goals in 43 Championship appearances this term.

TeamTalk have reported that he is someone who is already on Albion’s radar, which definitely means that a deal is a possibility for the newly-promoted Baggies.

Bilic needs a new striker this summer with Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu failing to score more than 10 Championship goals each this term.

We would dread the thought of starting the Premier League season with one of those up front so someone like Grant is a much better option.

Other names mentioned are Grady Diangana, – who is an obvious no-brainer based on how well he did on loan at West Brom – Callum Wilson, Will Hughes, Lewis Cook and Ollie Watkins.

We wouldn’t be against any of those players signing for the club this summer.

In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips hopes there are no repercussions against the Baggies after what these fans did last week.
