View: Filip Krovinovic comments could cast doubt over permanent West Brom move

West Brom playmaker Filip Krovinovic has commented on his chances of a permanent move to the Hawthorns over the summer.

The Croatian was on loan in the Midlands from Benfica this season, with the Baggies not holding a permanent option in the deal.

The 24-year-old made 40 appearances under Slaven Bilic, but only managed to score three goals and claim a couple of assists.

Krovinovic was uncertain when asked about his future, with the managerial situation at his parent club, Benfica, recently changing.

“I do not know yet,” Krovinovic told Vecernji.

“The Championship has just ended and we have not started negotiations yet. The situation in Benfica has changed a bit; the coach, Lage, left.

“He didn’t select me, and if he had stayed at the club, I would surely have been even closer to staying in England.”

Krovinovic admitted that negotiations had not begun yet, and it has been reported by Record that the Baggies are yet to submit a formal offer for the Croatian.

The Telegraph shared that Albion are ready to make Krovinovic’s switch to the Hawthorns a permanent one for £6million this month, but the midfielder seemed to be less certain over his future in this recent interview.

It will all depend on what Benfica’s next manager thinks, and Krovinovic could have a future at the Estadio Da Luz – if not, expect the 24-year-old through the doors at the Hawthorns next season.
