West Brom & Aston Villa in pursuit of No 10 valued £20m by English club – report

West Brom are one of many clubs who are interested in signing QPR attacker Eberechi Eze this summer, according to the Guardian.

The newspaper claims that West Ham have “stepped up their pursuit” of the 22-year-old, who is said to be at his best when playing in the No 10 role behind a striker.

As well as West Brom and West Ham, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Newcastle are also in the race to sign the London-born ace.

Eze has been in fantastic form for QPR this season.

He scored 14 goals and supplied eight assists in 46 Championship appearances, with one of his goals coming on the final day of the season when QPR drew 2-2 against Slaven Bilic’s side at The Hawthorns.

Bilic was spotted talking to Eze after that four-goal draw while Rangers boss Mark Warburton was also full of praise for him. As quoted by the Express & Star, Warburton said: “Eze is a very special player, I’m loath to talk about individuals but he has worked so hard. It’s easy to distract the young players with headlines but I’m delighted in the manner he has dealt with them.”

Eze is a very talented young player and while he does play best in the central attacking midfield role, he has spent a lot of this season playing out on the left-wing.

Callum Robinson and Grady Diangana have reached the end of their loan spells at The Hawthorns so the left-wing is an area Bilic is bound to look to improve this summer as Matheus Pereira is bound to have the No 10 spot next term.

It is going to be difficult to sign Eze due to his price-tag and the number of clubs who want him but he is certainly someone worth putting in the effort for.

In other West Brom news, Daryl Burgess has urged the club to sign this 32-year-old striker.
