‘£5m plus Burke’, ‘Transfer record… Break it’ – Many West Brom fans thrilled by transfer news

West Brom fans are drooling over the possibility of Eberechi Eze heading to The Hawthorns this summer after Albion were linked with the QPR attacker.

According to the Guardian, the Baggies are among a number of Premier League clubs who are in the hunt to sign the 22-year-old.

Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Ham are also said to be keen on the £20million-rated talent, with it being suggested that the Hammers are favourites to land his signature at this stage.

Still, that hasn’t stopped a lot of West Brom fans from getting excited about Eze’s potential arrival this summer after a stellar campaign in the Championship in which he scored 14 goals and supplied eight assists in 46 appearances.

One has, rather optimistically, suggested that an offer of £5million plus Oliver Burke will be good enough.

While we don’t agree with that, Slaven Bilic and Luke Dowling should make a big effort to land the London-born number 10 this summer.

Here is a selection of tweets by the West Brom fans:

Eze has been one of the best players in the Championship this season and possibly the best player to have not played for a top-six team.

He ranks third, behind Said Benrahma and Matheus Pereira, in the WhoScored ranking system for the entire campaign.

WhoScored adds that the QPR star completed more dribbles [136] than any other player in the whole of the Championship and ranked ninth for the number of key passes he made [82].

We would love to have him at West Brom for next season.

Let’s just hope that QPR are massive fans of Burke for that one idea to play out.

In other West Brom news, Daryl Burgess has urged the club to sign this 32-year-old striker.
