Report: West Brom mulling over move for free-agent winger, 19-year-old likened to Zaha
West Brom are mulling over a move for free-agent Korede Adedoyin after the winger left Everton at the end of his last contract.
That’s according to AllNigeriaSoccer, who have reported on their website that the Baggies could make a move for the winger who has been likened to Wilfried Zaha.
Slaven Bilic could be short on wingers at the Hawthorns, with the loan spells of Callum Robinson and Grady Diangana recently ending.
It is suggested in the report that three of West Brom’s rivals in the Championship last season could also make a move.
Stoke, Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday are all credited with an interest in the 19-year-old, who failed to make it at Goodison Park.
The agent of Adedoyin has reportedly already held talks with clubs from Austria, Italy and Germany over a potential switch, so it isn’t just those three sides who West Brom may need to rival.
There will be no question marks over the wingers’ fitness too, with Adedoyin having trained with an unnamed Championship club after leaving the Toffees.
Albion fans will have been hoping for much-bigger names than Adedoyin when reading transfer stories this summer.
It wouldn’t be an inspiring switch – after all, if Adedoyin had that much potential, he would have been given a new contract at Goodison Park.
Look at the competition too, if the former Everton man was so promising, wouldn’t there be many more top-flight clubs taking an interest?
Bilic should concentrate on bringing back Diangana or Robinson, or even both rather than making moves for players that would struggle to make any impact at all next season.
