‘Bang average’, ‘Not interested’ – Many WBA fans unhappy with latest transfer report
With almost one month until the Premier League season begins, the list of names linked with a move to West Brom continues to grow.
The Baggies have clear areas of weakness at the Hawthorns, with the final third and their defence a couple of spaces that may need to be strengthened.
One report we didn’t expect to see, was the Sun claiming that Albion are looking at three different keepers who could potentially make the switch.
Alan Nixon has claimed that the Baggies are preparing to make a “shock move” for Swansea youngster Steven-Andreas Benda.
Slaven Bilic is said to be a big fan of the stopper, who was on loan at Swindon last season and wants more competition for Sam Johnstone.
Swansea fans were quick to dismiss those links, saying the keeper has a future at the Liberty Stadium after Freddie Woodman’s loan ended.
It is suggested that West Brom would like two new keepers through the door this summer, with the competition for the number one spot set to rise considerably.
Jonathan Bond was the number two at the Hawthorns this season, and Alex Palmer has just signed a three-year deal at the club after impressing at Plymouth.
Palmer helped the Argyle to promotion alongside Swindon, and it seems strange that he could not be given the chance to at least cement a spot on the bench.
Many West Brom fans appeared to agree and claimed that it could be a waste of time and resources for the Baggies in an area that doesn’t necessarily need strengthening.
