‘Relegation’, ‘Screwed’ – These WBA fans distraught as senior figure confirms Hawthorns exit

West Brom Chief Executive Mark Jenkins confirmed his exit from the Hawthorns on Monday afternoon after the club secured promotion to the Premier League.

Jenkins has spent 18 years with the Albion across two spells in his career, a period in which the Baggies have been promoted four times.

Having worked closely with Jenkins in the past two years, Xu “Ken” Ke will now step into the position left by the experienced figure.

Jenkins claimed that his “job was done” after the club was promoted and that now was the right time for him to announce his retirement.

“We are back in the Premier League and my job is done,” he said.

The experienced executive informed the boardroom that he was going to retire before the enforced lockdown, but that still hasn’t eased the blow of losing Jenkins.

Guochuan Lai has acted quickly to replace Jenkins, although a large group of fans are uncertain whether or not he has made the right decision.

Ken, Jenkins’ replacement, has admitted that he believes it will be an easy transition at the Hawthorns with an excellent team already in place.

Many West Brom fans reacted to the news on Twitter after it was announced, with some claiming that it could affect how the Baggies work in the transfer market.

Some others were much-more drastic, admitting that the Albion could have already confirmed their relegation from the Premier League before it had even started.
