West Brom set for talks over second loan deal for 24-year-old ace – report

West Brom are set to hold talks with Benfica as they aim to re-sign Filip Krovinovic on a season loan deal, according to the Telegraph.

Krovinovic, 24, made 43 appearances in all competitions as Slaven Bilic’s side won promotion to the Premier League this season, scoring three goals and supplying four assists in the process.

Although the Croatian playmaker did not become a vital part of Bilic’s plans until the second half of the season, he has proven popular with Albion fans and was recently spotted partying with a number of supporters while in Croatia.

John Percy had previously reported on The Telegraph website that the Baggies will make a move to sign Krovinovic on a permanent basis from Benfica this summer for around £6million. However, that plan now seems to have been put to bed and a second loan deal looks more likely.

It could be that the coronavirus pandemic has had such an impact on Albion’s finances that they would rather put off buying Krovinovic outright for another year.

We’ve seen something similar happen at Leeds United, who were expected to sign Jack Harrison permanently from Manchester City this summer but are now signing him on loan again.

Krovinovic showed his ability to control the ball in tight spaces and pick out a pass under a lot of pressure in the Championship.

Can he do the same in the Premier League?

It seems that there is a good chance he’ll get that opportunity.

In other West Brom news, Albion are set to bid £7.2million for this international attacker.
