It has been a number of weeks since West Brom secured promotion, and all eyes will now be firmly set on the Premier League.
The Baggies finished second in the Championship after a gruelling campaign and will be thankful for eight fewer games next season.
Slaven Bilic will know the competition goes up significantly though and will want his side better both physically and mentally at the Hawthorns.
Pre-season will be cut shorter due to COVID-19, with the Premier League already confirming that the 20/21 season will start on the 12th of September.
The Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi has reported that the Baggies squad will return to training on Monday the 17th of August.
It has been suggested that the first two days will consist of fitness work after Bilic told his squad to take a three-week break doing little as possible to recharge their batteries.
Fellow promoted side Leeds will return to pre-season training one week earlier this Monday, but it is unknown whether that will give them an advantage or not.
West Brom are also said to be searching for pre-season friendlies too, with their return date giving them less than a months preparation for the Premier League.
A number of players from last season’s squad may not be returning for pre-season though. The Guardian has reported that the Baggies could sell many faces over the summer.
Oliver Burke, Kenneth Zohore and Kieran Gibbs could all leave, potentially giving West Brom space for some fresh faces.
It may take some time for those to arrive though, with the transfer window open until October – one month into the actual season.
