‘In a heartbeat’, ‘Absolutely’ – Many WBA fans urge club to make move for 28y/o after reported talks

It is going to be a whirlwind summer for West Brom as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.

After the COVID-19 pandemic extended last season, the Baggies will only have three to four weeks in pre-season before stepping back out in the top-flight.

That means that transfer business by every single club will need to be carried out swiftly, with no idea how the lockdown will affect finances.

West Brom want a defender, that is clear. Semi Ajayi impressed last season but needs more continuity alongside him in a partnership.

The Daily Mail has reported that Slaven Bilic wants a no-nonsense defender this summer, and Brighton’s Shane Duffy could be that man.

It is reported that the Baggies have held talks with the Seagulls over the availability of the Irish international already.

West Ham are also reportedly interested, but it appears as though West Brom are out in front in the race to secure the 28-year-old.

Ahmed Hegazi could be leaving in the summer, with Al Ittihad’s spokesperson confirming their interest in the Egyptian.

That would leave Bilic light on options, and it would be critical to bring in a replacement such as Duffy who has strong experience.

The Brighton man has made 96 Premier League appearances in his career and could enter the 100-club as a Baggies player if talks go well.

Many Albion fans have reacted to the news, and the majority would like to see their side secure Duffy as soon as possible.
