Forward expected to exit PL club if West Brom can agree long-term deal – report

Callum Robinson played a major role in guiding West Brom to promotion last season despite only joining on loan in January.

The Sheffield United forward revelled in the celebrations for days after the draw with Queens Park Rangers, not taking his kit off for a considerable amount of time.

Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett reported that the Baggies have held talks with the Blades recently over a “substantive deal”.

Dorsett admitted that other clubs are interested in the Republic of Ireland international though, with at least one of those another Premier League side.

The Irish Herald reported on Tuesday morning that Robinson is expected to leave Bramall Lane if West Brom can agree to a long-term deal – something which shouldn’t be a problem.

Slaven Bilic is clearly a big fan of Robinson and needs to strengthen his attacking options before the Premier League start at the Hawthorns.

Both Hal Robson-Kanu and Charlie Austin reached double figures in the Championship last season, but they are nowhere near consistent enough to succeed in the top flight.

Robinson will offer Bilic great versatility at the Hawthorns too, with the ability to play outwide as well as down the middle.

The 25-year-old played 10 games as a central striker last season, as well as nine on the left and that will severely help the Baggies in the Premier League if they need to change their system around.

It sounds simple, but West Brom will not only need to offer a long-term deal, but they will need to match or get near the £7.8million fee spent by the Blades last year.
