‘Not for sale’, ‘100% keep’ – These Saints fans react to reported £10m West Brom pursuit

West Brom have been linked with a whole host of exciting names upon their return to the Premier League next month.

The Baggies will be looking to strengthen in the final third this summer, with a number of spaces needing to be filled.

Grady Diangana and Callum Robinson are no longer at the Hawthorns, and Slaven Bilic has an ageing front-line to choose from.

The Sun has reported on their website on Sunday that the Baggies are interested in a move for Southampton forward Michael Obafemi.

It is suggested by the newspaper that Aston Villa will offer strong competition for the signature of the 20-year-old.

Ralph Hassenhuttl isn’t against selling the Republic of Ireland international but would require a £10million fee as a minimum.

Southampton currently have Shane Long, Che Adams and the prolific Danny Ings to choose from, with strong competition on the south coast.

Obafemi did make 21 Premier League appearances last season, but 13 of those were off the bench for the Saints.

In those games, the young forward managed three goals and supplied a further two assists, not a great record, but one of promise.

How have Southampton fans reacted to the news though? The majority of them seemed to laugh it off and admit that there is no chance Obafemi is for sale.

West Brom News have picked out some of the best reactions below…

Based on these reactions, the Saints fans clearly don’t want to lose one of their brightest talents, especially on a permanent deal.

The jury is still out over his ability to consistently perform in the Premier League, and Bilic may want a striker with a better record at this level.
