‘Never even seen before’ – Individual coach of Matheus Pereira opens up on ‘incredible’ talent
West Brom finally confirmed the signing of Matheus Pereira on Monday.
The Baggies made the South American’s move from Sporting CP a permanent one, with the playmaker signing a four-year deal at the Hawthorns.
Not many can take praise for Pereira’s rise to the top, but individual coach Nate Weiss who helped transform him during their time at Nurnberg.

Weiss has opened up on Pereira’s undeniable talent and claimed he has done things that he has never seen before.
“Matheus changed my whole philosophy when it comes to individual training,” he told Sky Sports.
“I have travelled all around the world, working with all types of players, but here I am working with a player who has a technical ability that I have never even seen before.
“The work that he put in was incredible. He worked on it constantly, cutting inside from the right and shooting into the corner with the inside of his left foot. He just wanted to do it all the time.”

Weiss also reiterated the point that Pereira needed a coach that believed in him, and Slaven Bilic has to take credit for that.
The hard-talking Croatian will not have stood for someone causing problems in the changing rooms, so his methods have clearly helped transform Pereira.
Pereira enjoyed his best season yet in the Championship, hitting eight goals and supplying 16 assists – here’s to an even better year in the Premier League.
