Kaveh Solhekol details how many new signings Bilic wants at West Brom before Sept 12
Slaven Bilic wants to sign four new players before West Brom kick off their Premier League campaign against Leicester on September 12, according to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol.
West Brom fans have been frustrated by the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market since winning promotion from the Championship last month.
Matheus Pereira is so far the Baggies’ only addition this summer after his loan deal was made permanent by the Black Country club.
Sky Sports have reported that a swap deal is on the cards to bring Callum Robinson back from Sheffield United with Oliver Burke going the other way while Solhekol adds tat Brighton centre-back is another Albion target.
“You’ve heard about the Robinson-Burke swap deal and Slaven Bilic wants Brighton defender Shane Duffy too,” Solhekol said, as shown in a clip on the Sky Sports website.
“Ideally, he wants four new players before the season starts.”
Bilic has made it clear that he is not too happy with the start to the summer transfer window in an interview with Index HR, saying that the club “must invest” in order to stop becoming a yo-yo club again.
Albion supporters are in full agreement with what Bilic said and with the squad now on their pre-season training camp at St George’s Park, it’s really time to press on with new arrivals.
However, while Bilic wants four new faces before the clash against Leicester at The Hawthorns in 19 days’ time, we expect him and Luke Dowling to also strike deals after that as the transfer window doesn’t shut until October.
In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips has urged Albion to take a hit on this player and sell him this summer.
