Report: 19/20 loan star will join West Brom permanently, decision to be made by end of month

It has been a quiet start to the summer transfer window for West Brom but it seems there is a growing optimism that Filip Krovinovic will be returning to The Hawthorns.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola has reported on their website that Krovinovic, 24, “will be staying at” West Brom permanently after winning promotion to the Premier League with them last season.

It is understood that a fee is yet to be agreed between the Baggies and Benfica, with Albion unwilling to pay their £9million demands.

However, it seems a decision will be made on Krovinovic’s future by the end of the month with A Bola saying that all Benfica players who were loaned out last season will return to Libson to hold meetings and their fate to be decided.

Krovinovic is already in Lisbon, based on his Instagram story.

We are yet to see any evidence that Krovinovic has reported back to duty at Estadio da Luz but based on A Bola’s report, it seems he has returned to his club for discussions about his future.

West Brom are very eager to re-sign Krovinovic.

Slaven Bilic recently told Croatian news outlet Index HR that he “will do everything” he can to ensure that the Benfica playmaker returns to The Hawthorns this summer after an impressive season on loan in the Championship.

A Bola have already reported that Krovinovic is not in the first-team plans of Benfica’s new manager Jorge Jesus so it seems that a deal is very likely as long as no other clubs make a move and blow the Baggies out of the water.

In other West Brom news, Albion are in talks to sign this 31-year-old goalkeeper from one of their Premier League rivals.
