Sky Sports: West Brom in advanced talks over deal for Premier League attacker

West Brom fans have been excited by the news that a swap deal could be on the cards, with Callum Robinson coming in and Oliver Burke going to Sheffield United.

That news came from The Sun’s Alan Nixon over the weekend and it looks like the deal is accelerating already this week.

Sky Sports have reported on their live transfer blog (10.46am), that West Brom are now in “advanced talks” with Sheffield United over the deal.

The report says: “Sheffield United and West Brom in advanced talks over a swap deal involving Callum Robinson and Oliver Burke.”

Robinson impressed when he joined West Brom on loan in January and helped propel the Baggies to promotion with three goals and two assists in 16 appearances.

And there are plenty of West Brom fans who think that Slaven Bilic will be getting the best side of the deal if it goes through.

One bit of caution – swap deals are notoriously difficult to complete and not many are actually done for that reason.

However, if Sky Sports have it right, it looks like both clubs are serious about getting it through.

Burke would be a big gamble for Sheffield United but this is a player who West Brom bought for £14m from Red Bull Leipzig.

He’s only started two games for West Brom and Baggies fans will be glad to see the back of him.

However, if Chris Wilder believes he can get Burke’s career back on track then it could be a deal that works well for both sides.

In other West Brom news, Albion are in talks over another forward’s potential exit.
