Some West Brom fans excited by journalist transfer update: ‘Deal’, ‘What a move that would be’

West Brom fans are supportive of the idea of using Oliver Burke in a swap deal to re-sign Callum Robinson from Sheffield United this summer.

According to Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Albion are keen on snapping up the 25-year-old forward on a permanent basis while Chris Wilder is interested in taking Burke, 23, to Bramall Lane.

It is understood that a swap deal could happen between the Baggies and the Blades which sees both clubs get the players they want before the transfer window closes.

Robinson impressed after joining the Baggies on loan in the January transfer window.

He played a vital role in helping the club get over their slump in form over the festive period and scored a vital goal in the 2-2 draw with QPR on the final day of the season to help secure automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Burke, on the other hand, has had underwhelming spells out on loan at Celtic and Alaves in the last one and a half season while he has thoroughly unimpressed in his appearances in blue and white stripes fro West Brom.

As such, fans are delighted by the prospect of getting rid of Burke and using the £15million flop to help re-sign one of last season’s loan stars.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

This seems too good to be true.

Sheffield United paid £8million for Robinson last summer when they signed him from Preston while Burke is unlikely to be anywhere near that value due to his poor form over the last three years.

If a swap deal was to go through, West Brom might have to throw in a couple of millions to sweeten things up a bit because, as it stands, Sheffield United are pulling the short straw.
