Sun journo: West Brom starlet attracting interest from ‘bigger club’ amid EFL exit speculation

West Brom striker Callum Morton is attracting attention from a “bigger club” than League One Lincoln City, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

The young hitman impressed immensely during a loan spell with Northampton Town last season, hitting eight goals in 12 outings.

Since then, he has made it clear that he is eager to keep on playing first team football next term, even if that means seeking a loan move elsewhere.

Morton

Initially, Nixon took to Twitter to report that Morton was closing in on a move to Lincoln, with former Baggies coach Michael Appleton at the helm.

But it would appear that the move has hit a complication, with an unnamed side also keen to land the 20-year-old.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, when asked about the situation by an Imps fan, Nixon said: “Seems to be a bigger club in for Morton.

“So that might not be so easy.”

This is probably good news for West Brom.

The higher the level that Morton is playing at, the more he is likely to develop, you would assume.

We saw plenty from the forward to suggest that he can be a real hit for the Baggies in the future, but he’s only going to be able to realise that potential by pushing the boundaries of what he has achieved so far.

Albion clearly see enough in him to open talks over a new deal at the club, as exclusively revealed by West Brom News, and if he can go and secure a deal to a top League One club, best of luck to him.
