West Brom very close to signing player who’s training away from his team-mates – report
West Brom are “very close” to re-signing Filip Krovinovic with the midfielder training away from the main first-team at Benfica, according to O Jogo.
Krovinovic, 24, uploaded footage of himself on a treadmill in Lisbon via his Instagram story on Wednesday but did not appear to be wearing Benfica training gear.
O Jojo now reports that while he is back training with the Portuguese giants, he is not doing so with the rest of Jorge Jesus’ first-team squad with him edging closer towards returning to the Black Country.
In this report, it is unclear whether Krovinovic is close to joining West Brom permanently or on another loan deal.
However, Record reported on Wednesday that Benfica had rejected a loan offer from the Baggies that would only see them obliged to sign Krovinovic permanently if they managed to avoid relegation from the Premier League next season.
Benfica reportedly want to be guaranteed to be able to sell Krovinovic.
A Bola claimed earlier this week that West Brom have agreed to pay around £9million for the Croatian playmaker either this summer or next if they do seal a loan-to-buy agreement.
But at the moment, it seems that the Baggies are doing everything they can to ensure they strike a deal that works best for them because, at the end of the day, Benfica are hardly in a strong position to negotiate as they clearly want to sell Krovinovic permanently.
In other West Brom news, Kaveh Solhekol has said how many new signings Bilic wants to make before the season kicks off next month.
