Nathan Ferguson sends Jonathan Leko message after West Brom exit sealed
Jonathan Leko sealed his move to Birmingham City from West Brom on Friday.
The winger leaves the Hawthorns after a couple of loan moves to Bristol City and Charlton in recent years and failing to impress.
Leko also suffered a serious injury at the Valley last season, something which didn’t help his progression in the midlands.
Nathan Ferguson was another who has sealed their exit this summer ahead of the Baggies return to the Premier League.
The defender has moved to Crystal Palace and has since reacted to the sale of former teammate Leko following to the exit door.
“My brother man, show them,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Some may see this as two players both leaving the club before recognising their full potential, but the duo had been nearing the exit many months before they actually left.
West Brom needed to sell players to boost their transfer pot this summer, with Slaven Bilic desperately wanting to bring in more players.
The Telegraph journalist John Percy reported that the Baggies have received a £1million fee for Leko, who will remain in the Championship.
As for Ferguson, that fee is yet to be determined and will be done so over a tribunal, with the fee expected to be around £6million.
Hopefully, that tribunal will be held sooner rather than later and the Baggies can use these two deals to boost there transfer budget before October’s deadline.
